South Carolina women's basketball star Aliyah Boston helped the Gamecocks cruise through an undefeated season to the March Madness Final Four.

She led the team in points and rebounds during the Elite Eight win over Maryland and was unstoppable when paired with Zia Cooke. They'll be challenged by the Iowa Hawkeyes on Friday (9 p.m., ESPN) and Caitlin Clark, who leads the team with 27.3 points per game.

Aliyah Boston stats for South Carolina in 2022-23 season

Boston, a 6-5 senior, leads the team in rebounds with 9.8 per game and is USC's second-highest scorer behind Cooke, averaging 13.2 points per game.

She went off during the Elite Eight matchup against Maryland, and lead the team with 22 points and 10 rebounds.

Aliyah Boston's awards in first three seasons

Boston quickly established herself in her freshman year with the Gamecocks and became the program’s first National Freshman of the Year and helped the team finish at No. 1 in the rankings for the first time in history.

Her success continued through her sophomore and junior years, where she was awarded National Player of the Year honors fromThe Athletic and was a unanimous First-Team All-American. Boston also was named SEC Tournament MVP after three straight double-doubles in the event in 2021.

She broke records in 2022 as the first player, male or female, to win both the Naismith Trophy and Naismith Defensive Player of the Year; also claimed the Honda Cup as Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year and SEC Roy F. Kramer Female Athlete of the Year. Boston led the nation with a program-record 30 double-doubles, including an SEC-record 27-game streak.

Aliyah Boston's high school career

Boston was born in the St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, and grew up in Worcester, Massachusetts.

During her high school career at Worcester Academy, she helped the team earn a 24-1 record and its second-straight New England Prep School Athletic Council Class A championship in 2018-19.

Boston also played in the McDonald’s All-American Game and the Jordan Brand Classic (2019), and won Massachusetts Player of the Year honors from Gatorade (2017, 2018, 2019) and USA Today (2019).
