LSU basketball star Angel Reese helped the Tigers get to the Final Four, where they'll face Virginia Tech on Friday.

Since transferring to LSU ahead of the 2022-23 season, Reese exceeded several career highs and quickly became a leader with the Tigers. She broke a single-season SEC record with 32 double-doubles during the Elite Eight matchup against Miami with 13 points and 18 rebounds.

Angel Reese's stats in first season with LSU

Reese, a 6-foot-3 sophomore, is the Tigers' leading scorer, averaging 23.2 points per game with 15.7 rebounds and a 70.8 free-throw percentage through 34 games.

She has immediately taken over March Madness, dominating LSU's NCAA Tournament-opening game against Hawaii with 34 points and 15 rebounds.

Reese also scored 25 points with 24 rebounds in the Sweet 16 against Michigan and took down the second-seeded Utes with 17 points and 12 rebounds before defeating the Miami Hurricanes to reach the Final Four.

Angel Reese transferred from Maryland to the SEC

Reese spent two seasons with the Maryland Terrapins in the Big Ten and watched the SEC's Gamecocks win the 2022 championship from home, then entered the transfer portal about a week later.

Reese quickly established herself at LSU, and she's currently ranked in the top five nationally in points (23.2) and rebounds (15.7) per game as a first-team All-American. She also has more NIL deals than any other college basketball player, according to a SponsorUnited report.

Angel Reese's high school in Maryland and her mom

Reese grew up in Baltimore, Maryland, and began her high school basketball career at St. Frances Academy. She led the team to three straight IAAM championships and two conference titles and played in the McDonald’s All-American Game.

Her mother, who's also named Angel Reese, actively supports her daughter at games and on social media. She recently shared that she's getting messages and dating requests that may not be for her.
