Turns out Priscilla Presley had someone else in mind during her much-publicized trust dispute with granddaughter Riley Keough: her son, Navarone Garibaldi Garcia.

Details of the May court settlement between Presley and Keough—which made Keough the sole trustee of her late mother Lisa Marie Presley’s estate—revealed that Garcia, 36, would be granted one-ninth of half-sister Lisa Marie’s trust.

Although they are not directly related, Garcia—Priscilla’s son from a separate relationship—is forever linked to rock ‘n’ roll royalty through his mother, who married Elvis Presley in 1967. The couple later divorced in 1973. Despite staying out of the spotlight to a degree, Garcia has faced a fair share of personal struggles while trying to make a name for himself professionally.

Here are some facts you might not know about Navarone Garibaldi Garcia and his relationships with Priscilla and his famous siblings.

His father is Marco Garibaldi, a Brazilian producer.

Garcia was born March 1, 1987, to Priscilla Presley and producer Marco Garibaldi. According to Today, Presley and Garibaldi met through friends in 1983 and, three years later, the unmarried couple revealed they were expecting Navarone, their only child together.

The couple remained unmarried throughout their relationship and eventually split in 2006. Two years later, Garibaldi formed his own production company, Godfather Entertainment.

Navarone and Marco are no longer on speaking terms.

Garcia sometimes clashed with his disciplinarian father growing up, although the two grew closer following Garibaldi’s breakup from Presley. However, their relationship is now completely severed.

Garcia, who grew up believing his father had been from a wealthy Italian family, told People he reached out to a Brazilian teenager who claimed to be his cousin in 2017. He learned that Garibaldi was actually from Brazil, and had changed his name from Garcia after being told he wouldn’t be successful in Hollywood with a Hispanic last name.

When confronted about the revelations, Garibaldi simply replied, “Lose my number.” The two haven’t spoken since.

Garcia flew to Brazil to meet his extended family soon after. “I lost one family member, but I gained 20-plus,” he said. “I have zero regrets.”

Garcia is a musician.

Like half-sister Lisa Marie and her father Elvis, Garcia pursued a music career. According to People, he moved away from his family at age 18 to Santa Cruz, California, but returned to Los Angeles in 2012 and formed the synth rock band Them Guns. “I thought, ‘OK, I’m going into the family business. I’ll write a song, and then we’ll start touring it,’” he said. “I didn’t realize it takes way more than that.”

Garcia serves as the group’s lead vocalist and guitarist. The band released a new song, “Acid Plane,” in February, and has teased upcoming 2023 tour dates on its website, although no shows are currently listed.

He is married.

Garcia married Elisa Achilli at the Schloss Hünigen hotel in Konolfingen, Switzerland, in February 2022. “I never thought I would find a counterpart that is so understanding and supportive,” he told People. “She makes everything we do effortless, and I can’t imagine life without her.”

The couple met four years prior and began a long-distance relationship. Garcia proposed on Christmas in 2020 and announced their engagement on Instagram.

Priscilla attended the ceremony and celebrated by tossing multi-colored flower petals into the air. Jerry Schilling, a talent manager and longtime friend of Elvis Presley, watched via Zoom.

Garcia has battled drug addiction.

Following the January 2023 death of Lisa Marie, who once admitted to abusing opioids, Garcia revealed he battled drug addiction beginning in high school.

Garcia told People he used heroin as a teen before becoming addicted to fentanyl. “I was under the impression I was doing heroin, but then it’d turn out to be fentanyl. That was a whole different beast. I became so addicted that I’d need it every 45 minutes,” he said.

He credits a visit to Switzerland to see Achilli in 2020 as a turning point. “When COVID happened, I wanted to go and see her for more than three or four days. I didn’t want to have to bring a pound of fentanyl with me anywhere I went. I buckled down and said, ‘Let’s see how bad this can get,’” Garcia explained. He then spent a month detoxing at Priscilla’s house, according to People.

His family relationships are complicated.

Although Garcia attended the Graceland memorial service for Lisa Marie, who died unexpectedly from cardiac arrest in January, he and his half-sister weren’t exactly close. Shortly after her death, he posted a photo of the two of them to Instagram and said in the caption, “I wish things had been different between us.”

Garcia is, however, more amicable with his niece, Riley Keough, whom he praised for her relationship with Harper and Finley Lockwood—Lisa Marie’s twin daughters from her relationship with ex-husband Michael Lockwood.

Lastly, Garcia and Priscilla remain close, and one of his goals is to take his mother to Brazil. “She was there in the 80s, but I think she needs a reminder of how nice it is,” he told People. “I would love to move there someday.”
