Put your best red lipstick on and get ready to do the washing machine because Selena: The Series is finally here! The brand new Netflix show brings another version of Selena's story to life as we take a deeper look at what happened to her before her untimely death and all that it took for her and her family to make it where she did. While the series only dropped the first part, fans are already hoping to see more of Christian Serratos as she brings the iconic Tejano singer to life with her performance.

The first official trailer for the second part of Selena: The Series is here and get ready for more iconic 90s fashion as Selena now gets started on her solo career as a singer, crossover artist, and designer. We'll be seeing her final moments before her death and how Yolanda Saldívar, her former fan club president and later killer, joined in the mix. Check it out below:
When will Selena: The Series season 2 be released?
Good news, Selena fans! The wait will be a lot shorter than you originally thought. The series will be back on May 4 and there's already a sneak peek on what we can expect featuring a re-creation of Selena's iconic concert at the Astrodome.
What will Selena: The Series season 2 be about?
The first part of Selena: The Series seemed to have ended right where we expected. Selena and Chris' relationship was accidentally revealed as they toured together and Abraham spotted them. Abraham kicks him out and tells Selena that she is unable to be with him and they leave him behind at a truck stop. Of course, if you know the true story of Selena, you know that her and Chris get married and he ends up re-joining the band. Not only that, but Yolanda was already introduced in the show's first part, meaning that we'll see more of how she got involved in the family and murdered Selena over missing money from her fanclub.
Netflix also gave us a hint of what we can expect next with the season's release date:

Will Selena: The Series part two focus more on Selena?
Fans were wondering about the second part of the series after finishing the first and seeing how little of Selena's career we actually got to see. According to series creator Moisés Zamora, things will certainly be different in the next season.
"The episodes focus largely on Abraham because he made choices for the family and Selena that led to her stardom. He made those decisions, he understood it's about them and you can see that drive and love when he speaks to his brother Hector about trying to chase their musical dream," he told Entertainment Weekly. "Without her family, we don't have Selena. So in part 1, we focused on the birth of Selena and Los Dinos through her family's point of view and Part Two, which has already been shot, is the rise of Selena the superstar."
Is Selena: The Series season 2 happening?
Yes, luckily for us, there's already a second season in the works. Part of the show's deal on Netflix was for it to be a two part series, so definitely expect it to be back.
When will Selena: The Series season 2 start filming?
It actually already wrapped! In an interview with the LA Times, Christian Serratos, who plays Selena, confirmed that the second part has already finished filming.
