Everything we know about the new Target coming to Lebanon County

Note: This story has been updated with the Target spokesperson's title.

A new banner draped in front of the new Target officially pens an opening day of Nov. 6, meaning there's just under a month before Lebanon County gets its first of these stores.

The 117,000 square-foot store, formally a Kmart located at 1745 Quentin Road, was purchased in June of 2021 for $5 million, according to previous reporting by the Lebanon Daily News.

Very little has been shared from the Target Corporation regarding the interior of the building, what departments it will feature and how many jobs the installment will create.

There has also been no official word regarding hours of operation. Most locations throughout central PA are open from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m., Monday through Sunday. A few stores open at 7 a.m. and even fewer close at 9 p.m. on Sunday.

A Target spokesperson said that more specific information will be shared regarding how the store will be tailored to serve local guests as the opening date nears.

"The store will bring an easy, safe and convenient shopping experience to new guests in the community," Caroline Robinson said in an email.

There are some indicators on the outside of the store that reveal what it might feature.

All the way on the left side of the building, lettering indicates that drive-up services will be available, allowing costumers to order items through the Target app and have it delivered to their car once prepared by an employee.

Roughly 20 parking sports are marked off near this area for drive-up purposes only.

More lettering indicates that a CVS pharmacy department will be located somewhere between the drive-up and the front entrance.

A job posting looking for specialty sales employees suggests that the store will feature clothing, beauty and technology departments.

Certainly not least of all, a Starbucks sign can be seen through the glass doors of the entrance, meaning costumers will be able to enjoy their favorite drinks while they shop.

Both contractors and what looks to be Target employees can be seen moving around the store, setting up merchandise and presumably preparing for opening day, but not all positions have been filled.

According to the Target careers website, the company is looking to fill positions in security, sales, overnight stocking, among others.

They're also looking to fill seasonal positions in multiple departments.

Other than management, for which salary information is not posted, all positions start at $15 an hour.
