Everything You Need to Know About West Elm X Rent the Runway

We’ve been huge fans of Rent The Runway for years. They’ve been saving our butts with same-day delivery, keeping our maternity style fresh and exciting, and even making sure our accessory rotation is on point. And now it looks like they’ll be expanding beyond our closets and jewelry boxes — beginning this summer, the brand has announced an exciting partnership with West Elm.

Starting this summer (just in time for your warm-weather get-togethers), West Elm will offer subscribers 26 exclusive home bundles for the bedroom and living room. Subscribers will pick from decorative pillows, quilts, coverlets, shams, and more, counting as one item in their subscription package at $159/month.

This partnership is an exciting venture for both brands — it’s the first time West Elm has made product available for rent *and* Rent The Runway’s first foray into home decor. “We are making it easier than ever for customers to discover great design for their spaces,” says West Elm president Alex Bellos. “Each of our curated home bundles encourage subscribers to translate their playful and bold style to decorating, and allow them to experience West Elm’s original, modern products from the comforts of home.”

This exclusive partnership hopes to bring choice, flexibility, and the ability to try a new style without fully investing, making it a great option for those of us who move often, are trying to nail down our signature style, or want to test-drive something new. And the noncommittal ability to rent is much more sustainable than having to return the item or just tossing it. In a recent press release, the companies said that this new renting mentality in the home space allows consumers to “focus on owning the most important thing in their lives, themselves.”
