Who is playing for the three alumni teams from the state of Kansas?

The former Wichita State players on the AfterShocks this summer are Conner Frankamp, Markis McDuffie, Darral Willis, Samajae Haynes-Jones, Trey Wade, Alterique Gilbert and Asbjorn Midtgaard. The team is coached by former Shockers in Zach Bush, Garrett Stutz, Clevin Hannah and J.R. Simon.

The non-Shockers are Tyrus McGee (Iowa State), Marcus Lee (Kentucky), Jordan Parks (North Carolina Central) and Caleb Walker (Nebraska).

The former KU players on Mass Street are Thomas Robinson, Tyshawn Taylor, Lagerald Vick, Mitch Lightfoot, Jamari Traylor, Mario Little, Kevin Young, Brandon Rush and Keith Langford. The team will be coached by former Jayhawks in Markieff and Marcus Morris.

The former K-State players on Purple & Black are Marcus Foster, Thomas Gipson, Kamau Stokes, Henry Walker, D.J. Johnson, Justin Edwards, Mike McGuirl, Desi Sills, Jevon Thomas, Abayomi Iyiola and Martavious Irving. The team is coached by former Wildcats in Jordan Henriquez-Roberts, Curtis Kelly and Clent Stewart.

Who are the alumni teams competing in the Wichita TBT regional?

While Wichita State, Kansas State and Kansas headline the alumni teams in Wichita this week, there are alumni teams from Missouri, Arkansas, Memphis, Temple, UNLV and Colorado State in the mix.

A potential American Athletic Conference rivalry game looms for the AfterShocks in the second round, as a win would pit them against either the alumni teams from Memphis or Temple. The Beale Street Boys feature recent graduates Jeremiah Martin and Alex Lomax, while Broad Street Birds feature former Temple standouts Shizz Alston and Quinton Rose.

A similar rivalry game is potentially set up for the KU alumni in the second round, as Mass Street could face Missouri’s Show Me Squad that features former Tigers like Jontay Porter, Isiaih Mosley, Dree Gholston and Tony Criswell.

What is the scouting report on the AfterShocks’ first opponent?

The B1 Ballers are back for their third straight appearance in TBT and still looking for the program’s first win.

After losing 94-66 to top-seeded Golden Eagles in their debut TBT performance in 2021, B1 Ballers nearly upset Texas Tech’s Air Raiders in a 90-89 loss at Koch Arena last July.

The top three scorers from last year’s B1 Ballers squad did not return for this year, but the team did reload with the addition of recent college graduates like Parker Stewart (UT Martin), 7-footer Michael Durr (UCF) and guard Isiah Dasher (Saint Peter’s). Charlie Marquardt has a reputation as an elite 3-point shooter, while guard Rayshawn Simmons (Central Michigan) has also carved out a successful professional career overseas.

AfterShocks are currently 13.5-point favorites for their opening game against B1 Ballers, according to Fan Duel odds.
