#BidenInBuffalo

President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden traveled to Buffalo Tuesday. After visiting the area near Saturday’s mass shooting, in which 10 people died and three were injured, they met privately with relatives of the victims. The Bidens then spoke emotionally in front of a large crowd, which included victims’ family members, lawmakers and media. In addition to trying to offer comfort, President Biden spoke of the hate, racism and gun violence that has become all too common in America. He vowed that “evil will not win … Hate will not prevail. White Supremacy will not have the last word.” He condemned the gunman’s “perverse ideology rooted in fear and racism” and called out those who have pushed the so-called “great replacement theory” — a false belief that white Americans are being “replaced” by minorities.

#AnthonyMuseumSpeaksOut

The National Susan B. Anthony Museum and House in Rochester has given its most forceful denunciation to date of the Susan B. Anthony List, a powerful anti-abortion political action group, calling its agenda “a bizarre and dangerous distortion of Anthony’s life and work.” Founded in 1993, the List purports to represent Anthony’s legacy as an anti-abortion crusader, largely based on an unsigned editorial denouncing “the horrible crime of child-murder” that appeared in Anthony’s newspaper, The Revolution. Last week, in a statement, the museum reiterated its position that the editorial was not written by Anthony, who said very little about abortion.
