Obi-Wan Kenobi has finished filming, according to star Ewan McGregor.

The actor is set to reprise the role of the iconic Jedi master in the Star Wars Disney+ prequel series, which will take place 10 years after Revenge of the Sith.

The show has now taken a big step forward, with McGregor revealing the news that principal photography has wrapped after picking up an Emmy for Netflix's Halston.

"We finished shooting our series, and it was really, really, good fun–I really enjoyed working with [director] Deborah Chow," he told press (via Variety).

"I think it will not disappoint," McGregor went on to tease. "I think it's gonna be good. I had a really good time making it, and worked with some really wonderful people, lovely people.

"The new technology we employed doing it is cool, and it was a different experience than making the original three films that I did."

Back in May, the star teased the show amid filming, revealing on Jimmy Kimmel Live: "I got to play a very special scene on May 4, with someone very special in my life and that's all I can tell you about it. But it was great fun."

He noted that he had never shared the screen with the person in question before, and that they were "not necessarily" related to him.

"I'm having a really great time," he added. "The costume's slightly different than you might expect, but to go back into the role, shall we say, is great. It's all still there, it feels good. We have great scripts and great people to work with."

Obi-Wan Kenobi is set to the see the return of prequel stars Hayden Christensen, Bonnie Piesse and Joel Edgerton alongside McGregor.

The series will also star the likes of Fast and Furious' Sung Kang, Homeland's Rupert Friend, Godzilla: King of the Monsters' O'Shea Jackson Jr, Terra Nova's Simone Kessell, Good Time's Benny Safdie, The Queen's Gambit's Moses Ingram, Eternals' Kumail Nanjiani and Game of Thrones' Indira Varma.
