UPDATED: Ex-choir director accused of sex with student resigned, still holds certification
An ex-choir director accused of having sex with a student continued earning a salary from Wichita Falls ISD for months after his arrest before he resigned.
Christopher Glenn Jarvis still holds a valid music teacher certification for early childhood through the 12th grade, according to the State Board of Education.
Jarvis, 33, of Frisco has been charged with improper relationship between an educator and a student in connection with a Dec. 7, 2017, allegation, according to court records.
Jarvis is scheduled for another pretrial hearing Jan. 11 in 78th District Court. A hearing scheduled for Tuesday was reset.

He is accused of having sex with a female student in a closet storing old choir robes while he was the choir director at Wichita Falls High School, according to allegations in court records.
Jarvis was arrested Sept. 4, 2020, for the charge, which carries a maximum punishment of 20 years.
He was free Thursday from Wichita County Jail on a $10,000 bond, according to online jail records.
His last date of employment with WFISD was May 29, 2021, district Communications Officer Ashley Thomas said in an email this week.
At the time of his resignation, his base salary was $52,128, Thomas said. His total salary was about $59,753 with stipends included.

Jarvis was put on paid administrative leave when the district was made aware of a Texas Rangers' investigation during the week before his arrest, according to WFISD officials.
The district didn't receive the details of the investigation then, according to officials.
WFISD launched its own internal investigation after his arrest when Superintendent Mike Kuhrt became aware of the charge against Jarvis at the same time as everyone else, according to a Sept. 4, 2020, media release.
Jarvis was to remain on leave until the district completed its internal investigation.
What was the outcome of the probe?
"Because employee records are confidential, we are unable to disclose information regarding the internal investigation," Thomas said Wednesday.
His Texas educator certificate is valid through May 31, 2022, according to the SBOE.
But the Texas Education Agency is investigating misconduct allegations against him, according to the SBOE.
His certificate is still valid because officials have made no formal determination.
