Ex-Detroit Lions LB Jessie Lemonier dies at age 25
Former Detroit Lions linebacker Jessie Lemonier has died, the team announced Thursday. He was 25 years old.
"We are shocked and saddened to learn of the passing of former Detroit Lion Jessie Lemonier," the Lions said in a statement. "Jessie was a model teammate and a wonderful young man who is gone far too soon. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this difficult time."
Details on the cause of death have not been released.
Lemonier played seven games with the Lions in 2021, when he had 1½ sacks and spent part of the season on the practice squad.

Lemonier spent last offseason and part of training camp with the Arizona Cardinals. He was waived in August, signed with the Houston Gamblers of the USFL in December and was traded to the Birmingham Stallions.
Lemonier played college football at Liberty and signed in 2020 as an undrafted free agent with the Los Angeles Chargers.
