Former Sacramento Kings center Marvin Bagley III has sold his Elk Grove compound with a resort-style backyard that includes a waterproof jumbotron over a pool, a purple NBA-sized basketball court with bleachers and large scoreboard, and a guest house.

The home sold for $1.88 million in just a little over a month after listing at $1.995 million on March 7, 2023.

The Kings picked Bagley No. 2 overall in the 2018 NBA Draft after the 6-foot-10 big man’s sensational college year at Duke University. He was traded to the Detroit Pistons in 2022.

Elk Grove is a city about 17 miles south of Sacramento, California.

This two-acre, multi-family property totals more than 6,800 square feet of living space spread over two homes. The main residence spans 4,500-square-feet with three primary bedrooms in addition to two others. The detached second home contains four bedrooms and three full baths. Set up for multi-generational living, the gated, private retreat has nine bedrooms and nine bathrooms in all.

Outside, there is a hibachi grill near the pool with a television built into a tree, and three outdoor bars.

RE/MAX Gold listing agent Matthew Hindy, who has represented many people in the Kings organization, sold the residence to Bagley in 2018. He said the basketball player spent between $250,000 and $300,000 to upgrade the outdoor amenities beyond the existing pool.

The buyer is a local owner of multiple businesses, Hindy said.

The home has a movie theater inside. There is livestock space available on the acreage and three entry gates to the property. The interest in the compound was strong from the day it was listed.
