CHERYL BURTON: Now, a former suburban school teacher charged with child sex crimes has faced prior allegations. Jeremy Hylka was fired from his job at St. Joseph Catholic School in Lockport last week. He is charged with child grooming after police say he was seen on video showing up at a McDonald's in Joliet allegedly meeting a teenage boy for sex.

Last night, parents learned Hylka was on paid leave from St. Joseph's in January after a TikTok video alleged inappropriate behavior between a student and teacher. Someone then contacted the school, accusing Hylka of grooming a student. The archdiocese says that investigation was kept confidential because it was a personnel matter and the allegations could not be clearly linked to Hylka
