Taylor Lewan got a delivery to his doorstep from the Tennessee Titans following his release on Feb. 2., he reported on Twitter on Monday.

The Pro Bowl offensive lineman had his locker cleaned out and gear dropped off in trash bags — at his request.

"Shout out to the Titans dropping my stuff off today," Lewan said in the tweet, which shows three garbage bags and his shoulder pads. "They even let me keep the shoulder pads."

The initial post caused quite a stir on social media. In a follow-up video, Lewan clarified he asked for the delivery, and the garbage bags -- while unsightly -- aren't uncommon for locker cleanouts. Still, the image of the bags on his doorstep is a reminder of the business side of the NFL.

"Yeah, it's in trash bags," Lewan said in the video. "What does it need to be in, a horse-drawn chariot?"

Lewan played nine seasons with the Titans and was a three-time Pro Bowl selection while leading the Titans to three playoff appearances. Lewan announced his own release on social media before the Titans made it official along with Robert Woods and Randy Bullock.

Lewan came to Nashville as a first-round selection and was a starter on an offensive line that led the way for a top rushing offense, who finished in the NFL top five four times in his career.

Lewan had missed most of the 2020 and 2022 seasons due to ACL injuries and seemed to expect to be released when asked on his podcast or in media interactions.
