Excelsior! Mohamed Sanu wears Stan Lee cleats before Falcons-Cowboys

Stan Lee, the Marvel Comics legend and co-creator of many of the superhero behemoths that own pop culture in America in 2018, died Monday at the age of 95. His influence ran far beyond just comic book fans; anyone who’s ever enjoyed, say, “The Avengers” or a Spider-Man movie owes a debt to Smilin’ Stan.

Before Sunday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys, Atlanta Falcons receiver Mohamed Sanu sported some cleats honoring Lee, with the dates of Lee’s life alongside his distinctive image. Look close, and you can spot Spidey’s distinctive webbing, too. It’s a nice tribute to Stan the Man, and Sanu and the Falcons could use a little of that Marvel magic to get back into the playoff race.
