Game of Thrones star Ricky Champ has revealed he'd be open to appearing in spin-off series House of the Dragon.

The former EastEnders actor, who is currently appearing as Ben in West End play 2:22 Ghost Story, admitted to watching the new Game of Thrones prequel and shared how he thinks he could return to the fantasy franchise.

"I love it," he said of the show, in an exclusive interview with Digital Spy. "I love Paddy [Considine], he’s an amazing actor."

Asked whether he'd ever want to star in House of the Dragon, Champ replied: "You never know. It is a prequel and it’s set many moons ago, so I could be an ancestor of my character."

Champ played the role of Gatins in Game of Thrones season 6. The actor appeared in two episodes, before meeting a grisly end at the hands of Sandor Clegane aka 'The Hound', played by Rory McCann.

"I loved doing it. It was such an enormous production," he said of his Game of Thrones experience. "You had an aircraft hanger just for carpentry and another one just for costume. Their base was on the Titanic dock — where they built the Titanic."

Another highlight was "learning how to ride a horse" two weeks before shooting. "Hacking up the Irish coast. It was amazing," Champ adds.

The actor is used to portraying villains on screen (in both GOT and EastEnders) though Champ admits that his latest character couldn't be further from a bad guy.

"Villains tend to be interesting characters," he tells us. "People are the way they are for a reason and I like playing vulnerable villains.

"In comparison, Ben is quite sweet actually and he’s a well-rounded character," he says of his 2:22 Ghost Story character. "He’s not a villain in the slightest."

In the play, Ben (Champ) is the new partner of Lauren (Sophia Bush), who accompanies her to a dinner party with old friend Sam (Clifford Samuel) and his wife Jenny (Jaime Winstone). Jenny believes her new house is haunted and asks her guests to stay up until 2:22am to get answers.

2:22 A Ghost Story is playing at London's Apollo Theatre until September 17.

Game of Thrones seasons 1-8 are available on DVD and Blu-ray. House of the Dragon airs on HBO in the US, and on Sky Atlantic and NOW in the UK.
