Exclusive: Strictly’s Kevin Clifton reveals bond with "phenomenal" Corrie star

Strictly Come Dancing star Kevin Clifton has shared high praise for former Coronation Street actress and Dancing on Ice finalist Faye Brookes.
The duo recently formed a friendship as they’ve been sharing the stage in their touring production of Baz Luhrmann’s Strictly Ballroom The Musical.
Brookes joined the cast earlier this year, taking over the role of Fran from Strictly star and EastEnders actress Maisie Smith.

Chatting exclusively to Digital Spy, Clifton detailed how Brookes has settled into the role and become a great addition to the cast.
"She has been phenomenal actually," he remarked. "Because we were doing eight shows a week, she didn't get to rehearse a lot with us.
"She was working with the resident director and the music director on her own and she had to sort of go through the material on her own.
"Then me and her got a couple of sessions together to work on the scenes, go through the songs and a bit of the choreography. Then she was thrown into a dress rehearsal and the next Monday she was on."

"So, it could have been a while until she’d bedded in a little bit," Clifton explained. "But right from the first show she was phenomenal.
"She's made Fran her own and she really knew what she was doing. I think me and her really clicked on stage as well very quickly.
"I just couldn't be happier. I feel like I'm learning from her every day. She's a brilliant performer."

However, Strictly Ballroom isn’t the only place fans can see Clifton in the coming weeks as he’s also set to grace our screens once more.
He’ll be back on TV soon as he delves into his family history for season 20 of BBC’s Who Do You Think You Are?.
Teasing ahead to what viewers can expect from his episode, Clifton revealed the show uncovered several surprises about his ancestors.
"Where it went was just nuts," he confessed. "I can't wait for everyone to see it."
