Exclusive: Ted Lasso's Brendan Hunt teases possible spin-off show

Brendan Hunt has teased the possibility of a Ted Lasso spin-off show.
The critically acclaimed Apple TV+ series is currently airing its third run, though it is set to take a break when the season comes to an end.
Whether or not the show continues into a fourth season, Hunt – who co-created the series and plays Coach Beard – suggested that a spin-off could be on the cards in the future, during an exclusive chat with Digital Spy.

When asked if he could see the world of Ted Lasso expanding, Hunt said: "I definitely could."
Before he teased what sort of form it could take, and added: "I don't know that it will but if it does, whichever character it is about, I hope it's animated and they're fighting crime."
Though, if it was a Coach Beard spin-off, Hunt suggests that things would be slightly different: "No, my character should be doing crime." We'd certainly love to see that.

Hunt also addressed the rumours that season three would be the end of the Emmy-award winning series, and confirmed that (for now) the plan is to take a break from the show.
"Well, that remains to be seen," he said, when asked if the series will continue. "But we definitely saw it as a three-part story and this will be the end of that story. And we treated it as such."
The star elaborated: "Does that mean it's the end of the series? Not necessarily. But at the very least after season three, we're going to take a break, get away from each other's pretty faces for a while, of which we are so tired.
"And then after that, everything's on the table," Hunt teased.
