Execs from Bank of America, Wells Fargo, other companies work on Habitat Charlotte build

Habitat for Humanity of the Charlotte Region’s inaugural CEO Build at The Meadows at Plato Price yesterday put to work almost 25 executives from many of the area’s leading companies. The nonprofit describes the event as a chance for C-level executives to get their hands dirty and serve the needs of our community.

High-profile participants included Bank of America’s Kieth Cockrell, Wells Fargo’s Mary Mack, Clay Grubb of Grubb Properties and Brian Natwick at Crescent Communities, among others. The execs joined together to build house components and subfloors for homes in The Meadows at Plato Price.

That 39-home Habitat development aims to create opportunities for affordable homeownership in an area of Charlotte where the homeownership rate (26%) falls far below the county average (57%).
