Exeter Area Garden Club honors excellence in horticulture and gardening

EXETER — The Exeter Area Garden Club celebrated the best of horticulture and gardening in its annual awards ceremony.

The club recognized three categories of excellence: residential, commercial, and lifetime achievement.

Jack Fermery of Hampton Falls received the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award for his unmatched dedication and skill in the art of gardening.

Elizabeth Niebling of Exeter won the Residential Award for her beautiful and diverse gardens.

The Civic Beautification Award for 2023 went to Robin Davis (partner of Jamie Lopez, owner of Inn at the Bandstand, Exeter). The front garden and planters at the Inn bring beauty to the historic downtown of Exeter.

To be eligible for consideration for awards, the property owners must primarily maintain residential gardens, allowing for certain professional services such as initial design, hardscape construction, and lawn maintenance.

The recognized communities encompass Exeter, Stratham, Newfields, Epping, Brentwood, Kingston, East Kingston, Kensington, Hampton Falls, Hampton, North Hampton, and Greenland. The 2024 Horticultural Excellence Award nominations will be accepted from March 30 to June 15, 2024. Interested parties are invited to submit nominations to EAGCNH@gmail.com.
