Jan. 19—The Exeter School District will induct the athletes from its 1971-72 boys basketball team into its Athletic Hall of Fame Friday.

The induction ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. in the high school cafeteria. The athletes will be introduced between Friday's JV and varsity boys basketball games against Gov. Mifflin.

The surviving athletes who will be inducted are Jim Barrer, Charlie Booker, Joe Fidler, Dave Giles, Andy Kahn, Randy Kleinsmith and Mark Wessner and Pete Yousaitis. Being inducted posthumously will be Duane Bowser, Dave Winterhalter and Jeff Woodward.

The Eagles were coached by Rod Hand. The assistant coaches were Terry McElhattan and Don Hadley. Randy Van Fleet and Don Bickel were the junior high coaches.

Exeter opened the season with 24 straight wins, including a 68-39 victory over Cedar Crest to earn the school's first Berks championship. The Eagles, who finished 25-2, also reached District 3 Class B semifinals and PIAA Class B quarterfinals.

Seniors Barrer, Winterhalter, Woodward and Yousaitis were joined in the starting lineup by Booker, a sophomore. Yousaitis, an All-Berks and All-State selection, finished his career with 1,287 points. He was the first in school history to score 1,000 points. Booker, who led the Eagles to the Berks title in 1974, finished his career with 1,476 points.

The 1971-72 team will join three others inducted into the Hall in the fall: Michal Menet, Michael Troutman and Kyle Yocum.
