Exeter's Ty Yonas sets BCIAA record for career goals in boys lacrosse

Apr. 22—Exeter's Ty Yonas became the all-time leading goal scorer in BCIAA boys lacrosse history Saturday in the Eagles' 11-10 non-league win over Central Dauphin at Harrisburg.

Yonas, a senior, set the mark of 210 goals with his second of six on the day.

He broke the record of 209 set by Wilson's Connor Howell from 2012-15.

Yonas, an attacker who also had three assists Saturday, has 214 goals. His freshman season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

It has been a record-setting season for Yonas, a two-time Berks Player of the Year. He set Exeter's career points record, breaking Jason Metz's previous program mark of 279, which ranks fourth in BCIAA history. Yonas has 300 points (214 goals, 86 assists) to rank third in BCIAA history, behind Howell (353) and Wilson's Adam Close (302).

Yonas also twice set the Eagles' single-game record. He scored a then-record nine in a 15-10 win over Southern Lehigh on April 10, then 11 in a 15-6 win over Gov. Mifflin three days later.

Also for Exeter (17-5) Saturday, Ashton Warchol had two goals and Aiden Boehm a goal and an assist. Dylan Robinson made 14 saves.
