Good morning, people of Rancho Bernardo-4s Ranch! It's me again, Bettyann Pernice, your host of the Rancho Bernardo-4s Ranch Daily.

First, your weekend weather:

  • Saturday: Sunny and pleasant, Santa Ana winds. High: 69, Low: 44.

  • Monday: Mostly sunny and nice. High: 71, Low: 42.

Here are the top stories in Rancho Bernardo-4s Ranch today:

  1. The County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency has expanded locations for COVID-19 testing to meet demand. The free testing sites are both walk-up and appointment based. The newest test site at the Palomar YMCA in Escondido can provide up to 800 tests per day, Monday through Friday. There are also testing sites at doctors' offices and at local pharmacies. 2. The omicron variant has forced a change of plans for many schools and colleges. For instance, many SDCCD classes will begin spring semester online rather than in person. The school had planned to open full-time, in person classes Jan. 3 but announced a delay to counter the rapid spread of COVID-19. When school reopens, students will need to wear face coverings (masks) at indoor locations, and students will be required to be vaccinated before they can enroll in in-person classes. 3. It’s back! Twenty-eight days of San Diego Museum Month will return with in-person events in February. The events will be at half-off admission price for more than 45 local museums and other cultural attractions. Museum Month passes are available for free at all Macy's store locations and at 75 public libraries countywide. It is a wonderful time to enjoy the experiences that the museums have to offer.
