What to expect from Noah Syndergaard on Phils

Noah Syndergaard was a borderline lock to get traded before the deadline, and he found a new home when he was dealt from the Angels to the Phillies for Mickey Moniack and Jadiel Sanchez. The right-hander made his first start with his new club on Thursday. And while he did pick up a win against the Nationals, he also allowed 11 hits and four runs with just two strikeouts. Hardly a dominant effort against a team that is currently the worst in baseball.
The right-hander posted a 3.83 ERA over 15 starts with the Halos, and he's going from a team that is no longer competitive to one that is right in the thick of playoff contention. That being said, there are some reasons to wonder just how much fantasy relevance the right-hander is going to have over those final few months. He struck out just 66 hitters in his 85 innings, which is one of the worst strikeout rates of any qualified starter. He's also well below average in expected ERA with a 4.25 [? mark. ?]
Syndergaard's ability to throw strikes and avoid hard contact give him a chance for success, but those expecting dominance are likely to come away disappointed. And there's likely going to be a few more starts like the one he had against the Nationals down the stretch. It's not ideal.
