Expect traffic impacts across the City for events happening over the Memorial Day Weekend

Memorial Day is less than a week away and the city of Cambridge is making sure people prepare for significant traffic delays ahead of the weekend due to events taking place.

These Memorial Day Weekend events include:

  • The Boston Calling Music Festival will take place at the Harvard Athletic Complex in Allston from Friday, May 27 through Sunday, May 29. The festival will go from 1 p.m. to 10:45 p.m. each day. Expect street closures in Harvard Square between 9 p.m. and midnight each night. Cambridge residents who experience noise or other impacts from the event should contact the Boston Calling Hotline at 617-870-4120 / community@bostoncalling.com or call the City of Cambridge Non-Emergency Line at 617-349-3300.

  • Harvard Commencement will be taking place in and around Harvard Square. Events will take place all week, with Commencement for the Class of 2022 happening on the morning of Thursday, May 26, and Commencement for the Classes of 2020 and 2021 happening on the morning of Sunday, May 29.

  • MIT Commencement will be taking place in and around the MIT Campus and Kendall Square on Thursday, May 26, and Friday, May 27.

  • Boston’s Run to Remember will take place along the Charles River on Sunday, May 29 between 7 a.m. and 11 a.m. The race route is on the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation property along Land Boulevard and Memorial Drive, from Cambridgeside to JFK Street.
