From the multiple eyebrow pencils we hoard on our vanities to the microblading treatments we schedule on the regular, it's a safe bet to say we are willing to do anything to get brows even half as stellar as Cara Delevingne's. But makeup can only go so far. We spoke with a brow expert to build the ultimate guide on how to grow our eyebrows back thicker and fuller-for good.

The Best Brow Diet

Hair growth is a holistic process that can be aided by a balanced and healthy diet, though it is just one piece of the puzzle. Jaimineey Patel, head of training at Blink Brow Bar, says eating a poor diet, along with not moisturizing and aging in general are among the top three factors that contribute to eyebrow hair loss. Patel recommends increasing your intake of foods with plenty of vitamins B5, E, and C as well as those with healthy fats like avocado, nuts and seeds, fish, and eggs. Fruits and vegetables high in antioxidants can also help reduce hair loss and increase hair's density.

Put Down The Tweezers

The absolute best way to ensure regular hair growth is to leave your brows alone; tweezing, rubbing, and picking at them only leads to premature hair loss. "We need to allow the eyebrows to grow as much as possible; we are unknowingly removing the same brow hairs," she says. "If left alone a fuller brow can be achieved." The same goes for waxing. She says its similar to tweezing when it comes to the hair growth regrowth pattern and there's a lot of risk in accidentally removing too much. You may feel a little unkempt at first, but trust the process: once hair has grown back to its fullest potential, then you can start getting your brows shaped again.

Luckily for microblading fans, there isn't proof that the needle hinders affects hair growth at all. "There is a myth with microblading that it can hinder hair growth, this hasn’t been proven and you will find many different stories on the internet," she says. "The only way to cause any hair loss is if the follicles are damaged during the treatment."

Look To Almond Oil

Almond oil is Patel's number one pick for keeping brows healthy. It's packed with vitamins E, D, and A. "It's great for nourishing the brow hairs," she says. "It has been used for centuries, and it's a magical formula once blended with the right essential oils."

Use A Brow Serum

Brow serums are a true beauty breakthrough and can help speed the hair growth process along. Patel recommends the BBB London Nourishing Brow Oil, which is made with sweet almond and rosemary oil to nourish hair and promote growth, and lavender and sandalwood to condition. There are also eyebrow conditioners like Revitabrow that are packed with peptides and vitamins to help minimize damage and breakage, so you can grow your fullest eyebrows ever. The only caveat? You have to be diligent about using it every single day, no matter what.

Finally, there's Victoria's Beckham's trick for growing back overplucked '90s brows: Latisse. The prescription medication, discovered as a treatment for glaucoma and later used to grow ultra-long eyelashes, can be used off-label on the eyebrows as well. “I’ll use a generous amount on my eyebrows as, and my brows have completely grown back," Beckham told Into the Gloss last year. "I have gone through phases where I’ve stopped using it, and I noticed a big difference,” said Beckham. Results will begin to show in about six to eight weeks.

So while we wait for our real hair to grow back in, we'll use these eyebrow pencils to fake it:
