Who are the experts picking in Penn State’s matchup against Central Michigan?

Penn State is back home to take on Central Michigan this week. They are off to an impressive start, being ranked 15th in the latest USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll. However, it’s how you finish that really matters. Penn State won their first five games then went on a losing streak last season.

What’s crazy to think about is Purdue was a good test for them, but the Boilermakers aren’t really off to a hot start, after losing last-minute to Syracuse. Speaking of Syracuse, does Dino Babers get any head coaching attention for him to leave for a bigger job? You could say the same thing for Jeff Brohm from Purdue, but it’s kind of tough to argue that now after the first few games of the season.

Staying on topic here, let’s go back to Penn State and talk about their matchup this weekend against Central Michigan.

Who are the experts picking this week? Let’s take a look.

First up, we’ve got Kerry Miller of Bleacher Report. Not only does he think Penn State Beats Central Michigan. But he also thinks the team puts up 45 points. Penn State handily defeated Auburn on the road last week and they held Tank Bigsby to just 39 rushing yards. A redemption game for Penn State’s defense after giving up over 100 yards to him in last season’s matchup. Miller predicts the Nittany Lions to beat Central Michigan with a score of 45–20.

Next up we have the writers over at Athlon Sports. Of the three writers, all of them had Penn State taking down Central Michigan on Saturday.

Next up, we have the writers of the Buckeyes Wire. Every week of the college football season, their staff has been predicting the winners of each matchup from the college wires. This week, they are taking the Nittany Lions to defeat the Chippewas of Central Michigan.

This will be another non-conference matchup for Penn State, and it should be an easy one for them. The Nittany Lions had this momentum last year for the first few games of the season. Yes, their level of competition they have played hasn’t been great. But they have a lot of momentum their way right now.
