—Hamburg Area Historical Society presents Brian Engelhart with "Shotguns in the Valley," 7 p.m., Hamburg High School LGI room. A history of the construction of the Maidencreek Dam and Lake Ontelaunee between 1925 and 1932; the Reading water supply that created the need and the drama of the 1927 "Shotgun Rebellion" of the local farmers who protested the construction.

April 15:

—Homemade chicken potpie supper and bake sale, St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 5 W. Arch St., Fleetwood, 3:30-7 p.m. All you can eat family style, corn, coleslaw, applesauce roll, dessert and beverage included. Tickets sold at the door. Cost $12 for adults; children under 5 are free. Baked goods for sale. Park on Green or Arch streets or on the municipal lot across the street.

April 16:

—Orders due for turkey potpie and sugar cookie sale, St. Peter's United Church of Christ Molltown, 219 Maidencreek Road, Richmond Township. Quarts of potpie are $8 each and cookies are 50 cents each. Pick up orders on April 22 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Call Bev at 484-529-1893 to order.

—Berks Photographic Society presentation, GoggleWorks Center for the Arts, Suite 326, 201 Washington St., Reading. 7 p.m. A live, in-person presentation, "Dream — Believe — Create" by nationally known photographer and speaker John Barclay (johnbarclayphotography.com). —Community giveaway (clothing, shoes, books, household items and more), Calvary United Church of Christ, 1231 Route 100, Washington Township, 8-11 a.m.

—Spring Valley Boutique, Spring Valley Church of God, 2727 Old Pricetown Road, Muhlenberg Township, 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Park in the upper parking lot; boutique is set up in the gym. Most items are free. Featured items vary by month (depending on donations) but frequently include clothing for women, men and children, shoes, handbags, jewelry, etc. Anyone looking to donate used items to this ministry can do so during boutique hours.

May 12:
