Explosion at Baltimore High-Rise Traps Workers on Scaffolding

An explosion at the Baltimore Gas and Electric building in downtown Baltimore on Wednesday, December 23, left two workers trapped on damaged scaffolding and injured at least 21 people, according to firefighters.

Fire officials were working to rescue the trapped workers, and said the explosion had caused a partial roof collapse.

According to the Baltimore City Fire Department chief, at least 21 of the 23 victims rescued from the building were transported to area hospitals.
