Explosion, fire reported at AmeriGas in Beaver County

INDEPENDENCE TWP. — An AmeriGas propane building exploded and caught fire Friday afternoon along Route 151.

Crews responded to reports of an explosion at the propane supplier’s office building at Route 151 and Cowpath Road around 3:40 p.m. At least half of the building, the garage area, was completely razed.

Several crews battled the blaze through Friday evening. By 6 p.m., emergency responders said the fire was under control. Dozens of emergency vehicles remained at the scene at that time.

No injuries were reported and the fire’s cause is still under investigation, according to first responders.
