Explosions in Crimea: Russian authorities claim 1 person killed, 5 injured

Occupiers claim that one person was killed and at least five people were injured as a result of explosions at a military airbase in Russian-occupied Crimea.

Quote: "Five people were wounded in the explosions in Novofedorivka. They have been taken to the Saky Central District Hospital."

Details: According to media reports, four of them, who had cuts from the glass, received outpatient care and have already been sent home. The fifth victim has a penetrating chest wound and is in the operating room, their condition is moderate. There is no threat to their life.

Sergey Aksyonov later added that one person has been killed.


  • On 9 August in the afternoon, explosions occurred at the military airbase in Novofedorivka, in the Saky district of Russian-occupied Crimea.

  • The Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation claims that no one has shelled at the airbase in Crimea, but for some reason, there was a detonation of ammunition.
