Listening to an episode of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition end with an excited shout from Ty Pennington to “Move! That! Bus!" was truly the highlight of ABC’s lineup for almost a decade. Now, six years after the last episode aired, fans of the O.G. home makeover show are rejoicing because there’s officially a reboot in the works—this time on HGTV with Modern Family's Jesse Tyler Ferguson as its host and a new design team.

Here’s everything you need to know about the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition reboot.

When is the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition reboot premiering?

As of right now, there’s no set date for the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition reboot premiere, but HGTV viewers can anticipate its arrival in early 2020. With 10 brand-new episodes gracing televisions all across America, the only possible thing to complain about is the wait. But, HGTV is making up for it with the promise to air 100 episodes from the original series, which ran from 2003 to 2012, to get viewers ready for the big day.

Who is hosting the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition reboot?

On June 20, HGTV officially announced that Modern Family’s Jesse Tyler Ferguson will be the host of the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition reboot.

“I’m so excited to announce that I will officially be hosting the most iconic, life-changing makeover show in the history of TV," the actor said on Instagram. “I cannot wait to bring you the next chapter of deserving families who are about to have their lives completely changed for the better and I’m so honored to be bringing you those uplifting and inspirational stories.”

Shortly after, the show's original host, Ty Pennington, shared his excitement of Jesse being named his replacement for the reboot. “I’m excited for those guys bringing the show back,” the 54-year-old told TMZ. “It’s one of the best shows ever. It’s an awesome thing, so congrats!"

Who will be in the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition reboot?

On August 21, HGTV shared the names of the first special guests who will be appearing on the EMHE reboot, including original host Ty Pennington!

Host Jesse Tyler Ferguson and the new design team will be joined by HGTV stars in every episode along with a mix of celebrities. As we draw closer to 2020, more names have been announced, and so far, the star-studded roster includes:

With a total of 10 new episodes, we can anticipate additional guest names will be announced in the near future, perhaps the Property Brothers and Fixer Upper's Chip and Jo?!

Are there any previews of the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition reboot?

HGTV released an early look of the reboot in November, allowing fans to hear Jesse Tyler Ferguson yell "Move! That! Bus!" for the very first time.

"It is such a privilege to meet people who need something and be able to give them that thing that they need," Ferguson says in the footage.

The actor can be seen walking around around in a hard hat, holding a baby, and spreading all around joy to families who have beaten impossible odds.

"It's so much better than I could have even dreamed," one woman says in tears after seeing her new home. (We dare you not to cry!)

Loren Ruch, the group senior vice president of production and development at HGTV, later revealed more details at the annual Television Critics Association winter press tour in January 2020.

“I feel like right now climate we’re living in, it’s a warm hug," Rush said of the reboot. "It felt like the time to have a feel good show. It feels like the perfect time in our society for the show to come back.”

Ferguson added that the reboot was similar in "spirit" to its predecessor.

How can I apply to be on the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition reboot?

With a host officially named and Ty Pennington only sending his best, it’s time to start looking for the next generation of deserving families whose lives will be changed forever.

Submit your family through the appropriate application. Expect to provide every family member’s social media pages, explain what makes your family’s situation unique, and name the top five repairs that need immediate attention. The application also has a section where you can upload two optional videos: one introducing your family to producers, and one giving a tour of your home.

You can also nominate a deserving family through a separate application, which asks how they've inspired you, how they’ve impacted their community, and how your life would be different without this family’s presence.
