'Extremely unique' medical marijuana dispensary targeted to veterans planned in Flemington

FLEMINGTON – A group wants to bring an "extremely unique" medicinal cannabis dispensary and wellness center targeted for veterans to the county seat.

Timory Ridall, of Montgomery, told the Borough Council on March 27 that the group, Four Leaf, wants to bring "the first of its kind" facility to Flemington.

Ridall, who said the principals of the group are all women, said the facility would offer a "restorative and peaceful environment" where wellness is an important goal.

Nurses will educate clients to empower themselves on choosing the best practices, she said.

The group is partnering with a veteran-owned cannabis cultivator and processor to develop products especially suited for veterans who have chronic pain, sleep issues and post-traumatic stress disorder.

Christopher Kidd, a retired colonel in the Army Reserves who is a principal in Paratus, a cannabis cultivator in Bordentown, told the Council that he served two tours in Iraq and was "blown up in one."

Because of a shoulder injury, he is 80% disabled and has chronic pain and PTSD.

"Sleeping for the past 16 years has been a bit of a challenge," he said.

Kidd, who lives in Annandale and grew up in Neshanic Station, said he doesn't use cannabis all the time "but when I do, I get phenomenal sleep."

"I can get a really, really good night's sleep," he said.

His goal is to develop a cannabis "delivery system" that's consistent so people "can rely on it," he said.

Christopher Weidling, who said he grew up in Hillsborough and graduated from Immaculata High School, told the Council he has been involved in the financing of the cannabis industry since 2012 and is "incredibly proud" to connect with the group.

He said it was an "extremely unique" concept to offer a medicinal cannabis dispensary and a wellness center under one roof.

He said the group was eying a 24,000-square-foot space in Flemington but did not disclose the location.

He said the facility would be "branded" for veterans and "will attract veterans not only from Hunterdon County but from all over New Jersey."

Council members made no comment on the presentation.
