Eye experts weigh in on post eclipse eye care

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — A new analysis of Google Trends revealed that the search “my eyes hurt after looking at the eclipse” skyrocketed in the United States in the first hours and Georgia was at the top of the list.

WRBL reached out to multiple eye care professionals in Fountain City who spoke about the affects the eclipse has had on business . Eye care professionals told WRBL that they haven’t seen any drastic increases in phone calls, appointments, or foot traffic after the eclipse.

In an interview with William Brown, the assistant manager of America’s Best shared how the eclipse has affected his working operations.

“We were bombarded for about two hours until we actually sold out. We sold out pretty really quickly. I guess somebody posted it on Facebook that we had them and we were just getting phone calls and people just piling in. A lot of teachers were coming in and getting them for their students. As of right now, we haven’t got anybody say their eyes hurt from looking at the eclipse.”
