The idea the Cincinnati Bengals might have a shot at free agent running back Ezekiel Elliott now that he has narrowed his list of teams down to three makes some of his recent comments more notable.

Word broke on Thursday that the Bengals are one of the three teams Elliott would prefer to land with. And before that report went live, Elliott himself took to Twitter to reveal what number he wants to wear with his next team.

Short and simple, Elliott wants the No. 15 from his Ohio State days back: “I want my #15 back.”

Fair enough — and that number is currently available on the Cincinnati roster.

We’ll see if the former Buckeyes star will link up with former college teammates like Joe Burrow and Sam Hubbard soon enough. For now, at least we know the team has his preferred jersey number available if he comes to town.
