NC labor commissioner will not run for reelection

There will be a new face in North Carolina elevators in 2024.

Labor Commissioner Josh Dobson said he will not run for reelection.

The Republican is in his first term in the position after Cherie Berry opted not to run.

Among other duties, the labor commissioner oversees elevator safety in North Carolina, which is why Dobson’s face can be found inside every elevator in the state.
