You'd be forgiven if you assumed the dozens of internet stories that have popped up since early May about global pop star Katy Perry moving to Kentucky are true.

But come on, really?

Sorry to have to be the one to break this to you, but Perry has not sold her $32 million Beverly Hills mansion, which she shares with her fiancé, actor Orlando Bloom, and their toddler Daisy Dove, to move to Kentucky.

Here's a clue that we know we're right: type in a search for "Katy Perry's Kentucky home" and a photo of Patricia Barnstable-Brown's house in the Highlands neighborhood of Louisville pops up. Barnstable-Brown certainly has her fair share of celebrities stop by for her star-studded Kentucky Derby Eve Gala each year, but none of them, including Perry, have moved into a spare bedroom.

Perry's fiancé, Bloom is currently working on a film in Kentucky. "Red Right Hand" is being filmed in Campbellsburg, New Castle and some scenes are being filmed around Jefferson County. The movie also stars Andie MacDowellGarret Dillahunt and Alexandra Park. The Courier Journal is told the film should wrap production in the next couple of weeks.

Earlier this month Perry, 37, opened up about spending a few weeks in the Bluegrass State during her appearance on Chelsea Handler's podcast, "Dear Chelsea," which first aired May 12, but was most likely recorded in April.

"I'm like, living in Kentucky, and I have for almost a month now. And that's quite an amazing experience because it reminds you that Hollywood is not America," Perry said on the podcast.

The "American Idol" judge also mentioned her time in Kentucky to "Idol" contestant Noah Thompson, who hails from Louisa, in Eastern Kentucky.

"I spent a little time in Kentucky these past few weeks," Perry told Thompson on the "American Idol" episode that aired on April  24. "I gotta tell you, you are a big big star there and my housekeeper, Michelle, is voting for you."

So yes, Perry, one of the biggest pop stars in the world, has recently visited the Bluegrass State for an extended period of time, but she has not sent her "change of address" to the U.S. Postal Service.

Nor do we expect her to anytime soon.
