Fairborn High School names new principal

Fairborn City Schools have named the district’s next high school principal.

Waylon Stegall was named the new principal of Fairborn High School, Superintendent Gene Lolli announced Wednesday.

“We are excited to have Waylon Stegall at the helm of Fairborn High School as we transition to the new building. His dedication, experience, and knowledge of the Fairborn community and schools make him the perfect fit for this role,” Lolli wrote in a note on the district’s website.

Stegall, a Fairborn graduate, currently serves as the Assistant Principal at Baker Middle School. He previously served as an Intervention Specialist and Baker Middle School Athletic Director over the past 15 years.

“I am incredibly excited and honored to be part of a rich history of education and success here at Fairborn High School. Many great things have happened for our student body and I look forward to working with a wonderful staff who will continue creating opportunities for our students to prepare themselves for the next phase of their lives,” Stegall said.

Stegall’s official start day in July 11. He will replace Brian McKnight, who accepted a position at the Greene County Career Center.
