Fairfax County Coronavirus Update: 111 New Cases, 401 Deaths

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA — There are 111 additional cases of the new coronavirus in the Fairfax Health District as of Monday, bringing the total number of cases in the health district to 11,341.

There have been a total of 401 deaths in Fairfax Health District as of Monday, according to the Fairfax County Health Department COVID-19 Case Data Dashboard. COVID-19 is the disease caused by the coronavirus. As of Monday, there are 1,348 coronavirus-related hospitalizations in the health district.

The data dashboard breaks down the number of coronavirus cases in the health district by locality. There are currently 11,219 confirmed cases in Fairfax County, 67 in the City of Fairfax and 55 in the City of Falls Church.

The dashboard also breaks down the number of cases by zip code case rate – or case per 100,000 people – in order to protect the confidential health information of residents and give a more accurate picture of the coronavirus impact on communities.

The breakdown of the top 10 case rates by zip code is as follows:

  • 22150: 2,449 cases per 100,000

  • 22041: 2,233 cases per 100,000

  • 22311: 2,2125 cases per 100,000

  • 22306: 2,249 cases per 100,000

  • 22027: 1,778 cases per 100,000

  • 22042: 1,896 cases per 100,000

  • 22003: 1,834 cases per 100,000

  • 22044: 1,589 cases per 100,000

  • 22309: 1,565 cases per 100,000

  • 20170: 1,816 cases per 100,000

The breakdown of cases by age group is:

  • Ages 0-17: 788 cases, or 281.9 per 100,000 people

  • Ages 18-49: 6,287 cases, or 1,217.2 per 100,000 people

  • Ages 50-64: 2,517 cases, or 1,066.3 per 100,000 people

  • Ages 65 and over: 1,749 cases, or 1,171.1 per 100,000 people

  • Total: 11,341 cases, or 959.9 per 100,000 people

The breakdown of deaths by age group is:

  • Ages 18-49: 11 deaths

  • Ages 50-64: 42 deaths

  • Ages 65 and over: 348 deaths

  • Total: 401 deaths

In response to donation offers, the county has compiled a number of ways to help. Monetary donations can go to the Community Foundation for Northern Virginia's COVID-19 Response Fund. The county is Volunteer Fairfax also has a list of donation requests from nonprofits.
