A Fairfield Township police officer won't face charges in a November incident where he shot a man who charged at officers with a knife and hammer.

A Butler County grand jury convened Wednesday to review the case of Adam Green, who shot a man multiple times while on a call to Camargo Trailer Park on the evening of Nov. 2, 2022. After reviewing body camera video and hearing witness testimony, the grand jury declined to indict Green.

"The shooting was justified as a matter of evidence and law," a news release from the Butler County Prosecutor's Office states.

'I will shoot you':Police release body cam of officer shooting man in Fairfield Township

The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation is also looking into the shooting at the request of Fairfield Township police. The investigation is still pending.

The man shot, Brian Hubbard, 29, was seen running out of a trailer and toward the officers with a hammer and kitchen knife after officers responded at 8:13 p.m. In the body camera footage, officers can be heard asking him to drop the weapons several times. Another officer on scene, Richard Coy, warned Hubbard: "I will shoot you."

As Hubbard continued to approach Green, the officer fired several rounds and Hubbard stumbled back into the trailer, where officers placed him in handcuffs and began administering first aid. Hubbard survived the shooting.

This shooting came two weeks after two officers resigned from the Fairfield Township police force after they opted not to shoot a man holding a gun. According to the department, the officers saw Stephaun Jones, 25, brandishing a gun on Oct. 8, 2022, but failed to shoot. A larger search was launched and Jones was shot and killed later in the day by a Hamilton police officer.
