KEY ACTION: The board accepted four resignations during Tuesday’s meeting and hired certified and classified employees.

DISCUSSION: Resignations were: Dianne Ott, bus monitor, pre-kindergarten, effective June 1; Jill McGill, bus driver, pre-kindergarten, effective June 1; Angela Ferrell, teacher, effective June10; and Destinee Werker, teacher, effective June 30.

The board granted one-year certified contracts to Adam Smith, intervention specialist middle school; Stone Scott, sixth grade science; Abby Moore, elementary intervention specialist; Kyleen Leifer, seventh-grade language arts; Courtney Cearns, elementary intervention specialist, and one-year classified contracts to Issac Weller, assistant mechanic, effect July 1; Dawn Seminatore, library/media aide, Colleen Matheny, four-hour paraprofessional aide, John Williams, five-hour afternoon custodian.

OTHER ACTION:

  • Approved an agreement between the district and the Massillon Public Library to provide library service at a cost of $12,678. Effective July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023.

  • Gave approval to an eight- year agreement with McGraw Hill for new Health curriculum at an approximate cost of $9,000.

  • Issued one-year supplemental contracts to non-district employees; Justin Cline, Kelly Bailey and Cheryl Haswell, drama assistants (fall and spring), Anna Widder, jr. class adviser(prom), Denise Meredith, student council adviser, Chad Colucci, varsity asst. football, Tim Weyandt, freshman football, James Jennings, head boys golf and junior high boys’ basketball; Roselea Henry, JV cheerleading, Percy McGhee, head wrestling.

FOR YOUR INFO:

  • The 2022-23 school calendar was amended to move parent teacher conferences to Oct. 10 and Teacher in-service day to Oct. 7.

UP NEXT: Meets at 7:30 a.m. June 29 in the board office to approve year end and financials and any other business to come before the board. The next regular meeting will be held at 6:15 p.m. Aug. 18 at 11885 Navarre Rd., Brewster. The July 19 meeting has been canceled.
