A Fairview Heights resale shop outgrew its store. Now it’s moving to a new, larger site
Once Upon a Child is moving to a new location, which is set to open in early February.
But the move isn’t very far.
The resale store will soon move about a mile, from 10850 Lincoln Trail to a larger site at 525 Lincoln Highway in Plaza St. Clair, next to Scott Credit Union and Schnucks.
Store manager Tammy Burgess said that the construction is progressing well. Painting is in progress, and the flooring is set to be installed.
The store’s new site will provide 8,600 square feet for the growing store, which currently has 6,680 square feet at its Crossroads Centre location.
Burgess feels the store will be busier at the new location. The Plaza St. Clair site is more visible and has more traffic around it than the current store.
When the store moves, Once Upon a Child will close for 4-5 days, a week at most, according to Burgess.

Prior to that, the store was the site of a Fashion Gal women’s clothing store.
