First English Lutheran to welcome new pastor

First English Lutheran Church, 53 Park Avenue West, Mansfield, announced that Pastor Miguel Acosta will be installed at 3 p.m. Sept. 18 in the sanctuary. The community is welcome. Refreshments will be served in the Narthex following the service. Those attending are asked to park on the west side at South Mulberry Street and Park Avenue West.

28th annual Mt. Jeez worship service set for Sept. 18

LUCAS — Pleasant Valley and St. Paul Lutheran Churches of Lucas along with St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bellville will be hosting the 28th annual outdoor worship service atop Malabar Farm’s Mt. Jeez on Sept. 18. The worship service will begin at 9:30 a.m. A continuous shuttle to take those in attendance to the top of Mt. Jeez will run from Malabar Farm’s Visitor Center parking lot beginning at 8:45 a.m. Everyone is asked to bring their own lawn chair or blanket.

The service will be conducted by the Rev. Kathy Kollar and Rev. Debbie Pinnegar. Special music will be provided by a musical group from St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bellville. A time of fellowship with refreshments will be held immediately after the service at the Malabar Shelter House Pavilion.

In the event of rain, the worship service will be held in the sanctuary of Pleasant Valley Lutheran Church, 2769 Pleasant Valley Road.

The public is invited to attend.

Ballroom dance classes resume at Holy Trinity

Ballroom dance classes are once again taking place at 6 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at Holy Trinity, 525 W. Cook Road in Mansfield. The cost is $7.

Free meal and praise service to be held at Mifflin church

MIFFLIN — St. Michael Lutheran Church, 26 E. Maine St. in Mifflin, will hold its free community meal and praise service on Sept. 17. The meal begins at 5 p.m. followed by the service featuring music by Mike White at 6 p.m.

All Souls welcomes guest speaker Sunday

BELLVILLE — All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church of Bellville, 25 Church St., welcomes Ron Boyd as guest speaker at 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

Boyd's presentation is titled "Inequality, Human Rights and Modern Slavery." He will examine the roots of slavery and inequality and what must be changed going forward for justice to be realized.
