Faith Lutheran to install new pastor on Sunday

Faith Lutheran Church, 1300 Oak Ridge Turnpike, will install the church's new pastor, the Rev. Chase Lefort, on Sunday, Aug. 7, at 3 p.m. with a special worship service.

The congregation of Faith Lutheran began meeting on Feb. 13, 1944, at East Village Chapel and has met regularly ever since, according to a church news release. Lefort will be its 10th pastor.

Lefort is a native of Raleigh, North Carolina, and a recent graduate of Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, Indiana, where he earned a Master of Divinity degree. He has also earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of Charleston, where he majored in German. Prior experiences include studies in Germany and service as vicar at Messiah Lutheran Church in Danville, California.

Lefort is engaged to be married to Savannah Stame of Boise, Idaho. A wedding date has not yet been published. The couple will be living in Oak Ridge and hope to be here for many years, according to the release.

"The public is invited to join us in celebrating our new pastor on Sunday, Aug. 7 at 3 p.m.," the release stated.
