Atlanta Falcons rookie quarterback Desmond Ridder, who starred for the Cincinnati Bearcats for the past four seasons and helped UC to its first-ever College Football Playoff appearance, threw a game-winning touchdown in his first NFL preseason game, lifting the Falcons to a 27-23 win against the Detroit Lions.
Ridder's game-winner was one of two touchdown passes in his preseason debut. He had 103 passing yards, and 59 rushing yards on six carries.
