Fall fun in the Cambridge area: Plenty to do throughout the season

CAMBRIDGE − There's a chill in the air and the leaves are just beginning to hint at their autumn colors. The cooler weather means there's no shortage of fall-themed activities in our area. Take a look at what's coming up in our area and beyond.

Sept. 30

  • Cambridge Main Street Fall Festival − 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Seventh Street, downtown Cambridge. Live music from Carson Clouse, E Wade, Dad Bods, Generation Gao and Driveline. A beer garden will be available for the 21 and up crowd. Kids games, food trucks and vendors. There is no admission charge.

  • Deerassic Park Fall Festival − 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Deerassic Park, 14250 Cadiz Road, Cambridge. For ages 3 to 15. Carnival games, pumpkin painting, petting zoo and food trucks. No charge for admission.

  • Old Washington Fall Festival− 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., 228 Old National Road, Old Washington. The parade begins at 11 a.m., there will be live music, craft and produce vendors, hayrides, food trucks and games. A tractor show and car show will also be taking place. No admission charge.

Oct. 14

  • Noble County Pioneers and Early Settlers Days - 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Ball-Caldwell Homestead, 419 West St., Caldwell. Rain or shine, guests can learn about the pioneers and early settlers of Noble County. No admission charge.

Oct. 20

  • 52nd Apple Butter Stirrin' Festival − 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday , Oct. 20-21 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 22 at Historic Roscoe Village. The annual festival features live music, a mayor's promenade, royalty contests, and, of course, hot apple butter stirring. Food and craft vendors will also be set up. There is no admission charge.

Oct. 21

  • Family BOO Bash 2023 − 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Crossroads Branch of the Guernsey County Library, 63500 Byesville Road, Cambridge. Free fall carnival with face painting, bounce houses, balloon artists and more. Costumes are welcome.

Oct. 28

  • Monster Mash − 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Byesville Square. Mingle with local businesses, grab some food and visit Scooby Doo. Mini golf will be on-site with activities to follow at the firehouse.

  • Byesville Fire Haunted House and Costume Party − 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. at the fire department. The costume party starts at 6 p.m. Costume judging for the following age groups: 0-2, 3-5, 6-12, and 12+. There is no charge for the party. A waiver for the haunted house must be signed before entry and those under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. There is a $5 fee for the haunted house.

Ongoing

  • Jack-O-Lantern World − Times vary. Franklin County Fairgrounds, 4951 Northwest Parkway, Hilliard. The 3/4 mile trail is adorned with thousands of carved pumpkins done by more than 50 artisans. Traverse 17-themed worlds of glowing orange fun along the trail. Runs every Thursday, Friday and Saturday through Oct. 29.
