Fall in love with this rom-com as Amarillo Little Theatre presents 'Significant Other'

Amarillo Little Theatre is presenting "Significant Other" by Joshua Harmon, a story of a tenderly unromantic romantic comedy about a boy's search for love.

The story follows Jordan Berman and his three close friends as they navigate through their late 20's and begin settling in life. Navigating through the typical life changes while watching his friends fall in love and get married, the main character combats his own loneliness while in search for Mr. Right and defining the differences in love relationships.

"Throughout the show, we kind of see Jordan experience the dating world and the world of friendship, along with things that can go right or wrong while trying to navigate through the difference. The story follows him through this journey as he makes discoveries about himself and choices for his future," said Dakota Warren, who is portraying Jordan Berman in the Amarillo production.

The production includes an ensemble of ALT cast members including Warren as the main character Jordan Berman, Caitlin Gibson as Laura, Jay Hayes as Vanessa,Nikki Harada as Kiki and Treva Oller as Helene Berman. Rounding out the cast is Harrison Blount, Brandon Graves, Noah Lang and Ruben Najera Jr. This lively comedy that does not fall into the traps of predictability is directed by Terri Wilson and assisted by Jo Smith.

"It's a great story that speaks to everybody. I feel like we all have experiences at points in our lives where our friends or loved ones are moving on and you're not caught up yet. It is just a story that really spoke to me personally and I feel will speak to many who see it. This story also has such an unusual way of being presented, with all the scenes blending into each other; that makes it an interesting story to tell," Wilson said.

"Significant Other" is an unorthodox romantic comedy from award-winning playwright Joshua Harmon that celebrates the highs and lows of the twentysomething urban life during wedding after wedding after wedding — with humor and humanity.
