Jurassic Quest is at Harrah’s Cherokee Center in Asheville Oct. 6 – 8. The event includes life-like dinosaurs, interactive science and art activities including a fossil dig and real fossils, a “Triceratots” soft play area for the littlest explorers, bounce houses and inflatable attractions, photo opportunities and more. A Ghost Pop-Up Workshop is 1 – 6 p.m. Oct. 6 at A Cut Above Maker Space in Spartanburg. All ages are welcome. The cost is $16 per child. For registration and details, visit acutabovemakerspace.com.

Festifall is Oct. 7 – 8 at Walnut Grove. Experience life in 1781 during the American Revolutionary War with live demonstrations of cooking, weaving, games and music. Tickets are good for the entire weekend's activities, including the Saturday night Bluegrass concert. Wristbands will be given for return admission. The Pumpkintown Fire Department Fall Festival is 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Oct. 7 at the Table Rock Wesleyan Camp in Pickens. The event is a fundraiser for the Pumpkintown Fire Department. Kroc Fest is 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Oct. 7 at Kroc Greenville. The event includes activities for all ages. Register online for the floating pumpkin patch. Five Forks Animal Hospital’s Fall Fest and anniversary celebration is 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Oct. 7. The event includes free face painting and a bounce house, plus local vendors, food trucks, the Greenville Swamp Rabbits mascot and more. One person (must be in attendance at Fall Fest) will receive one annual exam checkup with core vaccinations, annual bloodwork, one dental cleaning (extractions not included) and flea, tick, and heartworm prevention for their pet. Well Walkers is offered Tuesdays and Thursdays in October, except Oct. 12, at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena. During the Oct. 31 event, the community is also invited to “Walk with a Doc.” From 9 – 11 a.m., Dr. Andrea Smith of Bon Secours St. Francis Primary Care Downtown will be on site to offer education about nutrition, preventative health, and chronic disease management. She will be available to walk a lap with anyone wanting to discuss the topic or ask any related questions. The arena concourse will be open from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. for anyone who wants to have a temperature-controlled space to exercise. Each loop around the concourse is a quarter mile. Well Walkers is a free event with no registration or prior notice required. Free parking for participants is provided in the VIP lot at the arena, located off Church Street.
