If Klahowya's girls soccer team wins its third state title in program history this fall, the Eagles will have some former players to thank for keeping them sharp on the eve of the postseason.

Class 1A West Central District tournament play opens Nov. 1 at home against Vashon Island.

Klahowya's 2022 squad faced off Saturday against an alumni team consisting of former Eagles, both young and old. Alumni players Gabby Dickey and Kyla Fenske-Radford graduated in June. Rachel Rolle and Anna Wise graduated in 2000.

Other notable names included 2002 graduate Hilary Crisman, who holds the school record with 104 goals and was a sophomore star on the Eagles' 2A title-winning team in 1999, and 2015 graduate Isabelle Severns, who scored the winning goal in the Eagles' 1A championship win over King's in 2014.

In the 80-minute friendly game, Klahowya's 2022 team prevailed over the alumni squad 4-3.

Saturday's game allowed Klahowya senior Tori Peters to play against her older sister, Emily, a 2017 graduate, and provided Eagles head coach Troy Oelschlager the opportunity to officiate the game because no referees showed up.

"I actually enjoyed it. It gave me a different perspective," Oelschlager said.
