Fall River man charged with murder in car wash killing of New Bedford woman
Angelo O. Leo, 33, of Fall River is charged with murder in the killing of Jessenia Simmons.
Leo was arraigned on the murder charge after allegedly shooting and killing Simmons, of New Bedford, at the Globe Car Wash on Broadway early in the afternoon on Monday, May 29.
Simmons, 45, was the mother of two children aged 14 and 16, according to prosecutors.
Leo entered a plea of not guilty and was held without bail.

Apparent murder suicide in New Bedford connected to missing woman from Taunton and Fall River
An apparent murder-suicide of a man and child, believed to be a father and son, that took place in New Bedford, was under investigation Friday, District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III said.
Police found a boy of approximately 8 years old and an older man deceased during a well-being check on Friday. As of this writing, it has not been confirmed by the State Medical Examiner's office, but the DA's office believes the older man to be George Scott III, age 54.
Quinn said he believes Scott is the father of the boy.
The DA also said the 8-year-old is the son of Lisa Hazard, who Scott reported missing to Fall River police in April 2019.

Food trucks return to Fall River
Food Trucks at the Gates held its kickoff event this past week, returning to the city with an array of culinary delights.
Organized by PVD Food Truck Events, in partnership with the City of Fall River, food trucks from across the region descend on the Gates of the City on Ponta Delgada Boulevard for evenings of delicious eats.
Another event is planned for July 6.
